Road Crew Member - Texas Reports To: Asset Manager - Western Operations Position Overview: We are seeking two dedicated and motivated team members to join our newly created Texas Road Crew. This two-person crew will play a critical role in maintaining the roads within our communities in the DFW area, including tasks such as crack filling, asphalt sealing, and fixing small patches as needed. When not working on road maintenance, the crew will support our maintenance teams across various communities in the region.
Core Responsibilities: - Perform road maintenance tasks such as crack filling, asphalt sealing, and patch repairs in the DFW area
- Coordinate with the site managers to schedule roadwork and ensure residents' vehicles are moved from work areas as needed
- Assist maintenance crews at local communities by providing general support for other maintenance projects
- Safely operate light machinery and tools required for road maintenance tasks
- Safely pull a trailer to transport necessary materials and equipment to job sites
- Maintain a safety-first attitude, ensuring that all work complies with company safety standards and best practices
- Handle and lift materials safely, including repetitive lifting and movement of materials for roadwork projects
- Ensure the proper use the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety measures to operate equipment and machinery safely
- Maintain professionalism while working independently and remotely, with minimal supervision
Required Skills and Abilities: - Self-starter with the ability to work independently and stay on task with minimal supervision
- Ability to plan and schedule work with site managers to ensure smooth coordination and minimal disruption to residents
- Experience with light machinery operation and safe handling of tools and equipment
- Physical ability to spend long periods of time standing and walking, as well as the ability to lift and handle materials repetitively
- A minimum of one year of experience with Yes Communities
