WHAT DOES YOUR DAY ENTAIL?
This is a full-time position! Work will be mainly in a standard office and in storage and file rooms.
As a Land Records Officer, you will establish and maintain processes and procedures for recording, preserving, and archiving files. You will determine if documents submitted for recording meet statutory requirements. Department accounting functions will be managed by you, including preparing daily and monthly reports. You will allocate financial and human resources and prepare budgets for presentation to the county commission. Leading and supervising six employees, including two deputy recorders, will be part of your responsibilities, covering interviewing, hiring, training, annual performance reviews, approving leave and time sheets, and addressing disciplinary matters. You will consult and collaborate with outside vendors on supplies, equipment, and software. Working with fellow government officials, real estate industry professionals, and county department heads, you will accomplish operational and project objectives. You will attend and present at local, regional, state, and national meetings and conferences (NDCRA, PRIA, NDACO, NDRIN, etc.). Participation in task forces or committees and mentoring new recorders will be expected. You will serve as a liaison to the County Administrator and County Commission. Monitoring and advising on legislation that may affect the department will be part of your duties. You will answer inquiries from the public.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A LAND RECORDS OFFICER
