Job Description

Mechanical Engineer

  • 6+ month contract (chance to extend/convert)
  • 100% onsite in Saddle River, NJ
  • 1st shift, 9/80 schedule
  • Top Skills: SolidWorks, defense/aerospace, PCB Design, Heat Transfer analysis exp, electronics, stress/thermal/fluid dynamics/vibration analysis

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Development: Create innovative and efficient mechanical designs for components, subsystems, and full systems using CAD software and other tools.
  • System Integration: Work with interdisciplinary teams (electrical, structural, and systems engineers) to integrate mechanical systems into larger defense and aerospace platforms.
  • Performance Analysis: Conduct stress, thermal, fluid dynamics, and vibration analyses to evaluate system performance.
  • Testing and Validation: Plan and execute tests to verify functionality, reliability, and durability of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with standards and customer requirements.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure designs meet regulations, standards, and specifications. Prepare technical documents such as design specs, test plans, and reports.
  • Manufacturing Support: Assist manufacturing teams during production, resolve design-related issues, review processes, and optimize designs for cost-effective production.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in mechanical design and development, ideally within defense or aerospace. Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) and engineering analysis tools. Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Analytical Abilities: Skilled in conducting detailed analyses, simulations, and evaluations of mechanical systems.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to identify and resolve complex engineering challenges with practical, efficient solutions.
