Hourly Pay Range:
$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights: - Position: Staff Support Assistant
- Location: Highland Park
- Per Diem
- Hours: As needed 7a - 4p M-F (Hrs Vary)
What you will do: The Staff Support assists the clinical team with various duties that may include:
- Responds to the immediate needs of the patient by answering patient call lights promptly and courteously.
- As directed, by RN, makes hourly or more frequent rounds on patients for safety, comfort, and meeting patients' needs/requests
- Positions, lifts, transfers, and ambulates patients as directed by the RN
- Assist with setting up meals for patients and ordering meals
- Keeps patient rooms tidy, refreshes patient's linen as need, removes unnecessary equipment and linen
- Assists patient with simple hygiene/comfort measures such as washing hands/face and oral care
- As directed by the RN, transports patient to other departments or when patient being discharge
- When directed by the RN, remains with the patient continuously for patient safety.
- Handles infectious waste and linen according to established hospital procedure
- Adheres to proper infection control standards and hand washing techniques to avoid cross contamination
- Cleans and disinfects unit specific equipment
- "Runner" to other departments, when needed to obtain necessary items for patient care
