QPC Transport Staff

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the QPC Program Manager, and as part of the QPC team, the Transport Staff assigned to the Quality Parenting Center (QPC) will be responsible for providing any transportation required for all scheduled appointments related to the QPC program. The QPC is a community based service, using a parent empowerment model, serving DCF involved families who have had their children removed and placed in foster or relative/kinship care. The QPC is a supervised visitation model. The position requires considerable knowledge of child welfare/CPS practices, dynamics, legal issues, and support systems. Transport Staff will participate in all trainings provided by DCF for the QPC model.

TECHNOLOGIES : Microsoft Office Suite, CareLogic, OnShift, Paycom

Accountable and responsible for the following results:

  • Adheres to all road and passenger safety requirements.
  • Provides transportation to children/ youth to the TCCOH for visits in the QPC.

  • Ensures vehicles are clean and prepared for all transports (i.e. fueled, clean and equipped with age appropriate car seats).

  • Successfully completes car seat training.
  • Confirms all transport pick up locations.
  • Maintains safety of all passengers being transported.
  • Informs QPC scheduler of any changes to scheduled pick-ups.

  • Successfully completes CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training and performs physical restraints with individuals as a last resort when needed.
  • Maintains all required agency mandatory trainings.
  • Participates in staff and departmental meetings, in-service training programs, and attends meetings as required, workshops, and conferences. Effectively utilizes supervision
  • Maintains appropriate personal boundaries with young people and families served at The Children's Center of Hamden. Adheres to The Children’s Center of Hamden’s Boundary Code of Ethics.

  • Performs any other related work assigned.
  • Is aware of the Policy and Procedure Manuals and can access information as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

CERTIFICATIONS

Possess a valid CT driver’s license with a clean driving record. CPR/1st Aid Certification will be required.
